Zoo Babies for Baby Lane Using A Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge

When I was sent a text to create a personalised card for a brand new baby boy, I jumped at the chance. There is nothing more special than a new baby, and what a perfect chance to make a special, super cute card that his Mumma can keep as a beautiful memento of this joyous life event.

Not knowing where to start, I scrolled through some of my beloved blogs and then went on over to one of my favourite sketch challenge sites Sweet Sunday Sketches. Always fabulous to help with the mojo when you are in a pickle and don’t know where to start. This week’s sketch challenge was a perfect base for my card! I am in love with this sketch #273 ❤

As you can see, I rotated the sketch to suit my needs. My client wanted the new baby’s name on the card and a vertical card just wasn’t going to suit or to fit everything I wanted on. I cut out baby Lane’s name using my BigShot and my Little Letters Thinlits. A perfect way to add a name to a project.

The card had turned out exactly how I envisioned with the subtlety of the Soft Sky, Very Vanilla and a doily combined with my absolute favourite DSP, Typeset, to make it a little more vintage and timeless.

I had hand wrote on the punched heart to give it a little more dimension and to make it a little more special.  It took me a few turns to get it right but am quite pleased with the end result. I also traced around the outside of the elephant in my matching Soft Sky Stampin’ Write Marker to give him a little bit more definition. I also added a little more detail to the elephant’s eye and added a cute eyebrow for personality.

Seeing as this is quite a special card, I wanted to make the inside just as special as the outside but still leave lots of room for the card giver to write a beautiful, heartfelt message. I really hope this card is loved by the recipients as much as I loved making it.

Welcome to the world little Lane. I wish you and your family a beautiful life together full of lots of amazing memories.

Happy stamping,
From your favourite Vintage Graffiti Artist,
Emma xo
