Have I mentioned how much I am enjoying playing along with the Global Design Project 003. I’m pretty sure I have and this week has been no exception, even if this week’s theme is ‘Baby’ which made it a little bit tricky for someone who only has one baby themed stamp set. Yes, I’m talking to you ‘Zoo Babies’! <— The go-to baby set for me.
I wanted to steer away from using this set and try something a little different. Scouring my sets and thinking about ideas, the impressive ‘Larger Than Life’ photopolymer alphabet stamp set popped right out. I have used this set a little bit lately for a big, bold statement. Just what I wanted for my card!
Stamping directly onto my ‘Hardwood’ background seemed the right thing to do, but the ‘Pool Party’ lettering just wasn’t standing out enough for me. What to do?! Some fussy cutting of course. Torture for some, complete and absolute relaxation for me… Except for today. After an impromptu trip for the start of my boys school holidays and doing almost 2,000kms in just three fun filled days, I was just a little tired. OK, a lot tired. And, I found that the fussy cutting required the concentration that I just didn’t have. Ah well, after a few attempts, I had the word baby carefully and lovingly fussy cut out.
I had a look at the elements that I had pulled out of my stash for my card and realised that the plain button and wooden element could be bumped up a notch also… Gold heat embossing will do this every time! Did you know that you can heat emboss on more than just paper? I love adding it to lots of design elements on my cards.
I love the look of this card – so modern and fresh. Such a great way to celebrate baby. Thank you for playing along with this week’s Global Design Project theme challenge!
